Cold Weather Intensity To Drop In Karachi

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted that the intensity of the ongoing cold weather in Karachi will marginally decrease starting Thursday night. However, the weather is expected to remain chilly and dry over the next 24 hours.

The minimum temperature in the port city was recorded at 8.5°C last night. According to the PMD’s latest forecast, the temperature is expected to drop slightly, ranging between 8°C and 10°C in the coming 24 hours.

Humidity levels in the city are currently at 81%, with light winds blowing from the northeast. The PMD reported that temperatures in the city’s Jinnah Terminal had dropped to 6.2°C on Tuesday.

The PMD also noted that the cold weather is being felt as 2 to 4°C colder than the actual temperature due to northeastern winds blowing at speeds between 5 and 15 km/h.

Elsewhere in Sindh, the lowest recorded temperatures were in Mithi, where the thermometer dipped to 0°C, and Mohen Jo Daro, where it reached 1°C. The Met Office also forecasted that Mithi will experience temperatures as low as -1°C by Thursday.

With chilly conditions continuing across Karachi, residents are advised to take necessary precautions against the cold weather.
