Pakistani Trio Saim Ayub, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Haris Rauf have earned spots in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s One Day International (ODI) Team of the Year for 2024. The ICC revealed the names of these players, alongside other top performers, highlighting their exceptional contributions.
The ICC emphasized that this year’s team not only boasts star power but also a strong balance of consistency, versatility, and quality.
Saim Ayub, who played nine matches and scored 515 runs, including three centuries and one half-century, made a remarkable impact. With an average of 64.37 and a strike rate of 105.53, Saim’s selection at the top of the order marks a breakout season.

He debuted in November, and his performance quickly caught attention, with standout innings in Australia and Zimbabwe, followed by a memorable series in South Africa, where he averaged 78.3.
Shaheen Shah Afridi was also a key figure in the team, taking 15 wickets in just six matches. With a bowling average of 17.6 and a best performance of 4/47, Shaheen remained one of the most consistent and effective bowlers, renowned for having one of the best bowling strike rates in world cricket.

Haris Rauf, who played in eight matches, took 13 wickets with an average of 22.4. His best performance was 5/29, which included a standout five-wicket haul in Adelaide during Pakistan’s ODI series in Australia. Haris played a crucial role in Pakistan’s dominant win in that match.
