The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has revealed the team jersey for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025, which will be hosted by Pakistan.
In a video shared by the ACB, Afghan players are seen wearing the new jersey, which draws inspiration from the country’s rich cultural heritage.
The design of the jersey incorporates patterns from the historic Jam Minaret in Ghor Province. According to the ACB, the jersey beautifully combines the elegance of Naskh calligraphy with the intricate geometric patterns of the Jam Minaret.
“As the Afghan Atalan take the field, they will wear the spirit of unity, the determination of our nation, and the elegance of Jam. They will make history and keep Afghanistan’s name shining on the global stage,” the ACB stated in an Instagram post.
For their debut in the Champions Trophy 2025, Afghanistan is placed in Group B alongside World Cup 2023 champions Australia, England, and South Africa.
Afghanistan will start their campaign on February 21 against South Africa in Karachi. They will then face England on February 26 in Lahore, followed by a match against Australia on February 28 in Lahore.
The tournament will kick off on February 19, with hosts and defending champions Pakistan taking on New Zealand. A total of 15 matches will be played across Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Karachi, while India’s matches will take place in Dubai.
