Catherine’s Early Childhood Project Set to Launch

Catherine, Princess of Wales, is set to unveil a significant project this week as part of her campaign to emphasize the importance of early childhood development.

In 2021, Catherine established the Centre for Early Childhood and has since described the initiative as her “life’s work.”

The princess, married to Prince William, the heir to the throne, expressed that society needs to be “much better at acting with compassion and empathy towards one another.”

In a statement, she emphasized that the core of this mission is the need to foster and nurture social and emotional skills, noting their crucial role in our mental and physical well-being. These skills, the Centre explained, impact everything from forming healthy relationships to learning, working, and overcoming challenges.

The first project stemming from this initiative is set to launch this week, though the exact date remains undisclosed.

At 43, Catherine is a mother to Prince George (11), Princess Charlotte (9), and Prince Louis (6). She has recently begun gradually returning to her royal duties following a cancer diagnosis last year. In March, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with a type of cancer, which she chose not to specify, and was undergoing chemotherapy.

Her announcement came shortly after her father-in-law, King Charles III, Britain’s monarch, shared that he, too, was undergoing cancer treatment. Both Catherine and Charles stepped back from public duties for several months in 2024 but have now resumed their royal roles, with Catherine’s return being more gradual.

Looking ahead to 2025, Catherine and Prince William are expected to make more public appearances together as they move towards a sense of normalcy.
