In a bold and unprecedented move, two women from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, have left their abusive husbands and tied the knot with each other. Kavita and Ganja alias Bablu, who had been in contact for six years through Instagram, got married in a Shiv temple in the city.
Both women had endured violence at the hands of their alcoholic and ill-tempered husbands. One woman, a mother of four, shared that her husband, an alcoholic, would beat her every day. After enduring years of abuse, she decided to return to her parents’ home.
The other woman, who was also subjected to violence, said her husband falsely accused her of infidelity and had a serious drinking problem, which led her to leave him.
According to a report by PTI, the two women explained that they were driven to seek a life of peace and love after years of suffering. They expressed their decision to live together in Gorakhpur, free from the violence and mistreatment of their past marriages.
