The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled its comprehensive domestic cricket schedule for 2025, promising an exciting year for the sport. With a balanced focus on both red-ball and white-ball formats, the year will feature a wide range of high-profile tournaments, including three first-class competitions.

The President’s Trophy Grade-I, an ongoing first-class tournament, will headline the calendar. Other key events, such as the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and the Champions Cup, are also set to take place. In addition to these red-ball fixtures, the PCB is placing significant emphasis on white-ball formats, with one 50-over List-A event, three T20 competitions, and a non-first-class three-day tournament.

As part of its efforts to nurture emerging talent, the PCB has introduced changes in its age-group categories. U15 and U17 tournaments will replace the previous U13 and U16 events, and a new Champions U19 One-Day Cup and Champions U19 Three-Day Trophy will give young cricketers fresh opportunities to showcase their skills. These changes aim to provide clear pathways for talented players to progress.

The 2025 season will feature a total of 21 tournaments across domestic, age-group, and pathway levels. This includes at least 131 first-class matches, 37 50-over List-A games, and 119 T20 fixtures. Moreover, club, age-group, schools, colleges, and universities competitions are expected to generate over 10,000 matches nationwide, providing ample opportunities for emerging cricketers.

One of the major highlights will be the 18-team National T20 Cup in March, where players from 16 regions will have the chance to showcase their talent in the shortest format. The President’s Trophy Grade-II, a non-first-class three-day departmental tournament, will take place in April and May, as departments compete for spots in List-A and first-class tournaments.

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 will also take center stage in April and May. Following the PSL, there will be a three-month break in senior men’s domestic events. During this period, the PCB will conduct training, fitness, and conditioning camps across 16 regions to prepare players for the second half of the year.

In September and October, the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and the Champions Cup will offer further opportunities for players to impress in first-class competitions and secure spots in Pakistan’s Test squad. In November and December, the President’s Cup Grade-I (50-over List-A) tournament will take place, followed by the second edition of the Champions T20 Cup. The Champions Cup One-Day tournament will be held in January 2026.

On the age-group front, the National U19 Cup will take place in September, featuring top talent from regional academies. The debut of the Champions U19 One-Day Cup and Champions U19 Three-Day Trophy will follow in October and November, with five teams guided by experienced mentors. Additionally, inter-school, college, and university tournaments will continue to provide opportunities for young players.

With over 130 first-class, 50-over, and T20 matches, alongside a range of developmental tournaments, 2025 is set to be an action-packed year for Pakistan’s domestic cricket. The schedule, however, is subject to any last-minute changes.
