The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast a fresh rain spell set to begin tomorrow (Monday), which will impact various regions across the country. The PMD states that a system of westerly winds will enter Pakistan, bringing hailstorms to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.
In addition to hail, northern areas are expected to receive snowfall, with rain predicted for Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan. This forecast follows recent heavy rainfall in Islamabad and Rawalpindi after almost four months of dry weather, offering relief amid the growing water crisis.
Several areas in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also experienced rainfall recently, with cities like Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, and Hafizabad receiving light to moderate showers.
The PMD further predicts cloudy conditions with rain and snow in northeast and western Balochistan, along with parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday. Partly cloudy weather is expected in AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan.
On Tuesday, rain is anticipated in Murree and Galliyat, with thunderstorms, wind, and isolated hailstorms in northeast Punjab.
The PMD has also warned of potential flash flooding in vulnerable areas of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and AJK and urged tourists to avoid unnecessary travel in these regions during the weather event.
